NERUDA UPCOMING EVENTS & NEWS:

Neruda Fourth of July Mini-Vacation:  Neruda will close in honor of Independence Day from Saturday, July 4th through Tuesday, July 7th.  We will reopen for business as usual on Wednesday, July 8th.  Please note that Neruda will be open on Friday, July 3.

Neruda is Open and Serving Great Food Monday through Saturday:  Of course, that shouldn't surprise anyone, but I've been hearing rumors that we closed.  We are very much alive and well and enjoying our work.  As many of you know, I have six employees who have worked at Neruda for over ten years, and next year I will have another two ten year employees on the payroll.  As Mark Twain had occasion to state, "The report of my death was an exaggeration." (New York Journal, 1897)

RECENT PAST EVENTS AT NERUDA:

Cosentino Wine Dinner, April 16th:  On Thursday, April 16th, Maggie Bolin of Cosentino Winery helped Neruda host a five-course wine dinner featuring the wines of Cosentino Winery of Napa Valley.  Neruda has presented Cosentino wines on our list for over five years now, and some customers order them at every opportunity.  What better way to celebrate the end of the tax season?  Rick Counts has released the menu, so to see the menu paired with the wines, click here.  (PDF format)

Big Red IV on Wednesday, February 18th:  On February 18, 2009, our friend Chris Rutter hosted Big Red IV, our annual five-course meal featuring the best of the big red wines from the Koerner Distributors cellars.  All the wines rated 93 or above by one of the major wine publications.  This year we poured seven wines with the five courses which gave us the opportunity to compare two shiraz/syrah selections with one of the courses and two Spanish reds with another of the courses.  Thanks to all 42 customers and wine staff who made the evening fun and informative.  To see the menu (in PDF format), click here.

Spirit Tasting, January 27th with Ian Warford:  On Tuesday, January 27th, Ian Warford hosted a Complimentary Spirit Tasting in or private dining room.  This has become annual event at Neruda, and

Tuesday, November 11, 2008, European Wine Adventure:  Our friend Linda Davis of Dreyfus-Ashby came to Edwardsville on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 and hosted a five-course meal featuring five wines from her portfolio.  Wines will included:

Hours of Operation - Effective October 1, 2007

Dinner:

Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Friday and Saturday from 5:0 until 10:00 p.m.

Lunch:

Open for private events by reservation

The Neruda Bar:

Open Monday through Saturday daily beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Our smaller dining room is available each business day as well as Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings  for your private party, business meeting, or other special event.
